Overview of Yealink IP Phones

Yealink is a global videoconferencing and voice communications company that specializes in collaboration solutions. The firm is currently the world’s leading brand for SIP phone shipments by market share. Yealink IP phones, in particular, are among the top technology for business network communications.

Here at NTS Direct, Yealink IP phones are among our most popular and reliable products for business communications, and for a good reason.

Yealink was established in 2001 and went on to become a top USB phone seller by 2003. In 2010, it became the top SIP phone provider in China and later, in 2013, opened a new R&D center in Hangzhou.

In 2015, the company released a spate of new IP-based videoconferencing phones and built partnerships with leading mobile network operators, including AT&T, Vodafone, BT, and Verizon. During this time, it also created a strategic partnership with Microsoft to deliver integrated IP phone solutions to customers.

Yealink got to the top of its industry because of its quality products. The brand’s video conferencing solutions help businesses connect with colleagues and customers more easily without having to install companion apps.

Yealink Phones

Yealink is currently working on integrating intelligent technologies with its phone lineup. In the past year, typical workplace expectations changed for millions of workers, as the Covid-19 pandemic forced companies to implement work-from-home strategies. Yealink phones are the top choice for the at-home worker, as they provide technology solutions that can reduce background noise. This is great in the office, as it prevents colleagues from inadvertently talking over each other, but it is also great in the home, as it eliminates background distractions such as children, pets, and any other household noises from disrupting important business communications.

Yealink divides its products into categories based on the intended solution. Its main categories are video conferencing, voice communication, and personal collaboration tools.

Videoconferencing

Another effect of the global pandemic was an increase in videoconferencing. With employees working from home, having reliable video conference technology is now a necessity. Yealink offers full package devices that include everything you need for a Microsoft Teams meeting. The MVC320 and MVC400 packages are ideal for smaller rooms, the MVC640 is the go-to for medium-sized rooms, and MVC840 is the top choice for large rooms. These easy-to-use systems ensure that you get the very best out of your Teams meetings, and make work-from-home feel like working in the office with how easy communication will be.

For additional video conferencing options, Yealink promotes two devices: the flagship VP59 smart video phone and the T58V - a more budget-orientated product. The VP59, the company claims, supports the future of desktop video collaboration. The device allows workers to conduct “one-click” presentations by pairing it with the Yealink WPP20 - the brand’s wireless presentation pod. Content sharing occurs immediately, without the need to install any additional apps.

The VP59 comes with many business-friendly features. The HD front camera supports resolutions up to 1080p - compatible with most high-end smartphone devices. And it comes with H.264 High Profile - a technology that helps to smooth real-time video feeds.

By contrast, the T58V is a more budget-orientated device. It has built-in WiFi and Bluetooth and a 1064x600 capacitive touch screen, plus space for 16 SIP accounts.

Both video conferencing solutions offer HD audio quality and hands-free speakerphones with AEC. They also have two-angled stands for ergonomic adjustment.

Video Communication

Yealink offers multiple IP phones in its video communication range, including the flagship CP960 and CP960-WirelessMic models, the CP930W-Base, and CP920. These products arrange smartphone-like screens in a tripod array, allowing users to place them in the middle of conference tables so that all participants can see.

Yealink breaks up the rest of its video communication phones into the following series:

  • T5 Series
  • T4 Series
  • T3 Series
  • T2 Series

T5 series phones incorporate the brand’s most sophisticated smart features. For instance, the ergonomic receiver on the T58A and other models has technology that helps to eliminate background noise and deliver a clear voice. Clear signal technology makes it easier for colleagues to hear what they are saying during meetings, negating the need to continually ask clarification questions.

The T4 series is the next level down. These phones have smaller screens but still feature Yealink’s Optima HD voice technology, sound stability, and support for 10-way conferencing.

T3 phones have even smaller screens than T4 and T5 Series devices, displaying only minimal information, such as caller ID. Yealink designs models such as the T33P, T33G, T31G, T31P, T31, and T30P to be as cost-effective as possible. Features such as smart noise filtering and robust build quality makes these phones ideal for high-intensity applications, such as call centers. Some models are wall-mountable and have multi-angle adjustable stands.

T2 Series phones offer similar features and price points as T3 Series phones. However, they are generally smaller. Models in the range include T29G - a high-end color screen paperless IP phone, the T27G - a more cost-effective multi-line alternative - and the T23G - an enterprise-level IP phone.

Personal Collaboration

Lastly, Yealink offers two personal collaboration speaker phones that operate over IP - the CP700 and the CP900. The CP700 supports USB and Bluetooth conversations for up to four people, while the CP900 facilitates up to six people. Yealink designs the product primarily for staff who are on the go and need a quick speaker solution they can combine with their laptops.

The CP900 and CP700 are among the first Microsoft Teams certified speakerphones and have dedicated Teams icon functions. Speaker phones come with Cortana intelligent4 assist.

Yealink provides IP phone devices for specific applications, such as Zoom calls, plus supporting headsets, webcams, and apps for USB connection management.
