Compatibility & Buying Information

Exact Product: This page is for the CyberData 011396 InformaCast Enabled Speaker with Talk-Back sold under NTS Direct SKU 011396-Z.

NTS Title Correction: CyberData identifies part number 011396 as the InformaCast Enabled Speaker with Talk-Back. The related 011394 is the standard SIP Speaker with Talk-Back. These models should not be treated as the same SKU.

InformaCast Enabled: The 011396 is designed for Singlewire InformaCast paging and emergency-notification deployments and can operate with InformaCast, SIP, and multicast simultaneously.

Talk-Back: When enabled, the integrated microphone allows the ceiling speaker to support two-way communications rather than acting only as a paging endpoint.

Full-Duplex Mode: Full-duplex communication with configurable echo cancellation is available for normal conversational operation in classrooms, offices, clinics, and similar indoor spaces.

Adaptive Half Duplex: The device also supports adaptive half-duplex operation with configurable VOX settings when full-duplex communication is not appropriate for the acoustic environment.

Remote Call Button: A compatible CyberData Remote Call Button can be connected to allow a room occupant to initiate a call to a predetermined extension. The button interface also supports an external status LED.

Remote Calling: A compatible phone can call the 011396 to initiate a page or a two-way conversation. Half-duplex push-to-talk can also be controlled from the far-end phone keypad.

Ambient Noise Compensation: The speaker can measure ambient sound in the room and automatically adjust speaker volume to help maintain intelligibility as background-noise levels change.

Audio Health Check: CyberData provides scheduled and manually initiated speaker health checks to help verify audio hardware operation.

Monitor Mode: Monitor Mode is available for compatible deployments that require room-audio monitoring functionality. Its use should follow applicable organizational policies and legal requirements.

External Speaker: The 011396 can drive one compatible external 8-ohm analog speaker to increase audio coverage. CyberData's Operations Guide provides a dedicated auxiliary-speaker connection.

Line Output: A 2.0 VPP line-level output into a 10k-ohm load is provided for connection to compatible external audio amplification equipment.

Relay: The onboard normally open dry relay is rated for 1A at 30VDC and can be controlled through supported DTMF functions.

PoE Output Difference: CyberData publishes 103 dB at 1 meter when the speaker operates from IEEE 802.3af PoE and 105 dB at 1 meter when powered from IEEE 802.3at PoE.

Indoor Product: Although the speaker has a wide published operating-temperature range, CyberData describes the 011396 as an indoor public-address speaker. It should not be presented as an IP-rated outdoor speaker.

Mounting: The standard package supports both suspended/drop-ceiling and drywall installation. CyberData's mounting template calls for a 7.50-inch speaker opening.

PoE Connection: CyberData specifies that the Ethernet/PoE connection is intended for intra-building use and should not be routed to outside-plant cabling.

No AC Voltage Inside Enclosure: CyberData states that the speaker enclosure is not rated for AC voltage. Power should be supplied using the documented PoE method.

Shared Operations Guide: The supplied 932055B IP Speakers with Talk-Back Operations Guide covers the 011394 and 011396 speaker platform. InformaCast-specific functionality on this page applies to the 011396.

Best Fit: CyberData 011396 is well suited to schools, classrooms, clinics, healthcare facilities, offices, and other indoor environments that need Singlewire InformaCast paging, SIP and multicast announcements, automatic volume adjustment, speaker health monitoring, and two-way room communication from a single PoE ceiling speaker.
