CyberData 011487 - Multicast Wall Mount Speaker
The CyberData 011487 Multicast Wall Mount Speaker is a PoE-powered network paging speaker designed for one-to-many announcements, alerts, bells, and voice paging over an existing Ethernet network. Its compact directional wall-mount design makes it well suited to schools, offices, healthcare facilities, retail locations, warehouses, hallways, commercial buildings, and other indoor environments where sound needs to be aimed toward a specific listening area.
The 011487 is a multicast-only endpoint and does not require SIP registration or its own PBX extension. It supports up to 10 prioritized multicast paging groups, receives compatible Poly group pages, supports delayed pages with buffered multicast, provides network-adjustable volume, produces up to 98 dB SPL at one meter, and uses IEEE 802.3af PoE for both power and network connectivity. The included base mount and universal joint provide approximately 200 degrees of adjustment for flexible speaker positioning.

Compatibility & Buying Information
Exact Product: This page is for the CyberData 011487 Multicast Wall Mount Speaker sold under NTS Direct SKU 011487-Z.
Multicast Only: The 011487 is not SIP-enabled. It does not register to an IP-PBX and cannot be assigned its own SIP extension or called directly like a SIP speaker.
No Individual PBX Extension Required: Because the speaker receives multicast streams rather than operating as an individual SIP extension, multiple 011487 speakers can be deployed without assigning a separate PBX registration to every speaker.
Multicast Source Required: The speaker requires a compatible device or application capable of transmitting supported RTP multicast audio.
CyberData 011146 Paging Server: CyberData specifically identifies the 011146 SIP Paging Server with Bell Scheduler as a compatible multicast source for the 011487.
Other Multicast Sources: Compatible multicast-capable IP phones, CyberData paging products, paging applications, and other devices capable of transmitting supported multicast audio can also serve as page sources.
10 Paging Groups: Current firmware allows the speaker to join up to ten multicast paging groups. Each group is configured using a multicast address and port.
Paging Priority: Each multicast group can be assigned a priority so higher-priority streams can interrupt lower-priority pages when multiple multicast streams arrive.
Large Multicast Deployments: CyberData states that a multicast paging zone can contain one or many compatible endpoints and does not publish a fixed endpoint-count limit per zone. Network infrastructure, multicast configuration, switch capability, and bandwidth should still be considered when designing large deployments.
Poly Paging: The 011487 can receive compatible Poly group pages directly in addition to standard RTP multicast audio streams.
Buffered Multicast: Delayed-page support allows compatible multicast streams to be buffered when required by the configured paging-priority workflow.
802.3af PoE: The speaker receives network connectivity and operating power from a compatible IEEE 802.3af PoE connection, eliminating the need for a separate local AC power supply.
PoE Injector Option: CyberData 011124 can provide PoE when the available Ethernet switch does not supply compatible Power over Ethernet.
Indoor Network Connection: CyberData specifies that the PoE Ethernet connector is intended for intra-building network connections and should not be routed directly to outside-plant cabling.
No AC Voltage Inside Enclosure: CyberData specifically states that the speaker enclosure is not rated for AC voltage.
Adjustable Wall Mount: The included two-piece base and universal joint provide approximately 200 degrees of movement so the speaker can be aimed toward the desired listening area.
011487 vs. 011458: Both products are multicast-only speakers with the same basic network paging concept. The 011487 uses an adjustable directional wall-mount enclosure, while the 011458 uses a flush-mounted ceiling-speaker design.
011487 vs. SIP Wall Speakers: Customers requiring a directly callable SIP/PBX extension should select a SIP-enabled wall-mount speaker. The 011487 is intended specifically for multicast reception.
Operations Guide: CyberData 932056A is the shared firmware-version-22.0 Operations Guide covering 011458, 011487, 011504, and 011505 multicast-speaker platforms.
Current Management Platform: Firmware 22.0 documentation provides network and VLAN configuration, SSL certificate management, multicast-group configuration, audio-file management, HTTP events, Terminus Cloud Control, autoprovisioning, firmware management, administrator settings, and an authenticated command interface.
Best Fit: CyberData 011487 is ideal for indoor multicast paging deployments that need directional wall-mounted speakers without assigning an individual SIP extension to every endpoint, particularly in schools, offices, healthcare facilities, retail environments, warehouses, hallways, and commercial buildings.
