Grandstream GXW4248-V2 - 48 FXS, 1 GigE, GDMS Support
The Grandstream GXW4248 V2 is a high-density 48-line FXS analog VoIP gateway designed to connect large deployments of existing analog telephones, fax machines, and legacy telephony equipment to modern SIP-based communications networks. Its two 50-pin RJ21 Telco connectors provide access to 48 FXS lines, while a Gigabit Ethernet interface, four SIP server profiles, independent SIP accounts for each line, wideband voice codecs, T.38 fax support, and simultaneous 3-way conferencing help organizations transition analog infrastructure to VoIP without replacing compatible endpoints.
Built for enterprise, hospitality, multi-site, campus, healthcare, education, and other high-density analog deployments, the GXW4248 V2 combines flexible SIP interoperability, automated provisioning, failover SIP server support, advanced call features, and carrier-grade security including SRTP, TLS, HTTPS, secure boot, unique device certificates, and randomized device passwords. Compatibility & Buying Information
48-Line FXS Gateway: The GXW4248 V2 provides 48 FXS analog lines for connecting compatible analog telephones, fax machines, and other analog telephony equipment to a SIP-based communications network.
RJ21 Connections Required: Unlike lower-port-count models in the GXW4200 V2 series, the GXW4248 V2 does not provide individual RJ11 telephone jacks. Its 48 FXS lines are presented through two female 50-pin RJ21 Telco connectors on the rear of the gateway.
Two Telco Cables Included: Grandstream includes two male RJ21 50-pin Telco cables with the GXW4248 V2. Each cable can be connected to compatible analog wiring or an appropriate RJ11 breakout or patch-panel arrangement for endpoint distribution.
Designed for SIP-Based Systems: The gateway is designed and tested for interoperability with leading IP PBXs, softswitches, SIP service providers, and other SIP-based communications environments.
Grandstream UCM Integration: The GXW4200 V2 series can be used with Grandstream UCM series IP PBXs and supports Grandstream Zero Configuration provisioning in compatible deployments.
GDMS Management: Grandstream Device Management System provides centralized cloud-based provisioning, configuration, monitoring, firmware management, and troubleshooting for supported GXW4248 V2 deployments.
FXS, Not FXO: The GXW4248 V2 is designed to provide FXS interfaces for analog endpoint devices. It is not an FXO gateway for connecting incoming analog PSTN telephone lines.
V2 Firmware Required: GXW42xx V2 devices use firmware specifically intended for the V2 hardware platform. Confirm the V2 model designation on the device label and use the appropriate GXW42xx V2 firmware when performing upgrades or maintenance.
