Compatibility & Buying Information
Eight FXS Ports: The HT818 V2 provides eight RJ11 FXS interfaces for connecting standard compatible analog telephones, fax machines, and other analog endpoint equipment to a SIP-based VoIP service or IP PBX.
FXS, Not FXO: The HT818 V2 provides analog station interfaces for endpoint devices. It is not an FXO gateway for connecting incoming analog PSTN telephone lines.
Two Gigabit Network Ports: NET1 and NET2 support 10/100/1000 Mbps Ethernet. By default, NET1 operates as a WAN connection using a DHCP client while NET2 operates as a LAN connection using a DHCP server, and the port roles can be changed through the web interface.
Integrated NAT Router: The built-in router allows the HT818 V2 to provide network routing in addition to analog-to-VoIP conversion, making it useful where voice endpoints and network connectivity need to be combined in a compact device.
SIP Service Required: The HT818 V2 converts compatible analog devices for use on SIP-based communications systems. A properly configured SIP account, hosted VoIP service, or compatible SIP IP PBX is required for calling functionality.
Grandstream UCM Integration: The HT818 V2 can be deployed with compatible Grandstream UCM series IP PBXs and supports Grandstream Zero Configuration provisioning for streamlined setup.
Fax Compatibility: The gateway supports T.38 Group 3 Fax Relay and automatic G.711 fax pass-through. Actual fax performance can depend on the connected fax equipment, SIP provider, PBX configuration, and network conditions.
GDMS Management: Grandstream Device Management System provides centralized provisioning, configuration, monitoring, firmware management, and troubleshooting for supported HT818 V2 deployments, making the device well suited for service providers and organizations managing multiple locations or large numbers of endpoints.
V2 Hardware Platform: When performing firmware updates or configuration maintenance, use resources specifically intended for the HT818 V2 and the current HT8xx V2 platform rather than firmware intended for the original HT818 hardware.
