Fanvil PN1 2-Wire Converter
The Fanvil PN1 is a compact 2-wire converter designed to carry IP network connectivity and PoE power over existing two-conductor cabling, helping installers upgrade legacy wiring without running new Ethernet throughout the building. With one 10/100 Mbps RJ45 Ethernet interface and one 2-wire interface, the PN1 can connect compatible PoE-enabled IP devices across existing PSTN, CAT 5e, RVV, or similar supported wiring.
The PN1 can be deployed as a pair of converters or integrated with Fanvil PN8 and PN24 2-Wire PoE switches for larger installations. Fanvil supports transmission distances up to 300 meters when both network and power are carried over the 2-wire link, or up to 1600 meters for network-only operation depending on cable quality and interference. This makes the PN1 well suited for hotels, apartment communities, villas, offices, and building-renovation projects where existing wiring needs to be preserved.

Operating Modes

Compatibility & Buying Information
The Fanvil PN1 is designed to convert between a standard RJ45 Ethernet/PoE connection and Fanvil's 2-wire network architecture. It is not an analog telephone adapter and does not convert analog voice service to SIP. Its purpose is to transport Ethernet network connectivity, and when supported, PoE power across suitable two-conductor wiring.
Two PN1 converters can be used together for a point-to-point link. Fanvil specifies that there is no master/slave distinction between the two converters. In a powered point-to-point installation, the PN1 connected on the network side uses the supplied power adapter and sends network and power over the 2-wire connection to the second PN1.
The PN1 is also compatible with Fanvil PN8 and PN24 2-Wire PoE switches. In this configuration, the PN8 or PN24 supplies network and power over the 2-wire cabling and a PN1 at the remote end converts that connection back to standard RJ45 Ethernet/PoE for a compatible IP device.
Fanvil specifies up to 300 meters when both network and power are transmitted, and up to 1600 meters for network-only transmission. Actual supported distance depends on cable gauge, cable condition, wiring topology, connected-device power requirements, and interference, so existing cabling should be evaluated before deployment.
